Spanish Intro Course

A 4-week intro course designed for newcomers who want to explore the language, the culture, and connect through conversation.

$100 /4 weeks (1hr)

Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm or Saturdays 10-11am

Week 1: ¡Hola! Nice to meet you – Greetings and introductions – The alphabet – Talking about names and nationalities – SER and ESTAR in present tense

Week 2: How are you? Where do you live? – Regular verbs in present – Common adjectives and possessives – Basic expressions with ESTAR and TENER

Week 3: In the classroom and at home ; Vocabulary: everyday objects and locations ; HAY vs ESTAR ; Numbers 1-20

Week 4: Let’s move! (Practical session + review) ; IR and “IR + A + place” ; Basic question words: where, what, who – Review and role-play activity

Spanish Full A1.1 Course

Reinforce the present tense, expand vocabulary, and build confidence in everyday conversations.

$300 /8 weeks (1.5hrs)

Saturdays 11am-12:30pm

Week 1: Welcome! Warm-up and present tense ; Review of intro content ; Present tense verbs: SER, ESTAR, TENER, regular verbs ; Gender and number agreement

Week 2: Daily routines and time; Reflexive verbs; Daily routine vocabulary; Time, days, frequency ; adverbs

Week 3: My family and I ; Family vocabulary; Possessive adjectives ; Describing people

Week 4: Likes and preferences ; Gustar, encantar, parecer, doler ; Indirect object pronouns; Expressing opinions

Week 5: In the city and at home; City/place vocabulary; HAY vs ESTAR vs SER; Prepositions of location

Week 6: In the city and at home; City/place vocabulary; HAY vs ESTAR vs SER; Prepositions of location

Week 7: At the restaurant/shopping; Food and shopping vocabulary; Role-play dialogues; Intro to direct object pronouns

Week 8: Final project and full review; Final presentation; Role-play activity; Informal evaluation and feedback

Alexander Flores

Alexander is a passionate language educator, professional dancer, and former national-level soccer player from Ecuador. As the founder of Open Lingua Canada, he brings together his background in sports, the arts, and education to deliver dynamic, culturally rich language lessons. His teaching approach focuses on building real-life communication skills, student confidence, and authentic engagement. Alexander is also a certified massage therapist, which reflects his holistic commitment to student well-being.

He currently teaches Spanish in group, private, and corporate settings
