These dance styles are among the most social and enjoyable to learn for first-time dancers in Montreal.

What should I wear and bring to the dance class?
For these beginner Latin dance classes in Montreal, we recommend:
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily (e.g., athletic wear or smart casual)
Shoes with smooth soles (avoid rubber soles or running shoes, as they grip the floor)
A water bottle to stay hydrated
A great attitude and openness to trying something new!
No special gear or dress code is required.
Do I need a partner to attend?
No, you do not need a partner to join these classes. We rotate partners throughout the class so everyone gets a chance to practice. Coming solo is completely normal — in fact, most participants arrive alone and meet people at the event. These Montreal dance classes for singles and beginners are a great way to meet new friends.
Can I attend more than one open house event?
Unfortunately, no. As part of our policy for the free dance class promotion, each new student may attend only one date. This allows us to welcome more people and ensure each event remains beginner-focused with manageable class sizes.
If you fall in love with dancing (and we think you will), you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for a low-cost promo membership or class bundle available at the open house.
Will there be any promotions or discounts offered at the event?
Yes! As part of our Summer 2025 open house for beginner dancers in Montreal, you’ll get access to exclusive one-time-only promotions on regular class packages, memberships, or seasonal offers. These deals are available only to attendees of the open house event and will not be posted online.

I’ve always been curious about Latin dance but thought I had two left feet. I attended the free beginner class in July, and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my summer. The instructor broke everything down so clearly, and the atmosphere was super relaxed. I met a few people, laughed a lot, and even managed to pull off some Salsa steps by the end! I never thought I'd enjoy dancing this much.

I was really nervous before going — I had never danced before and didn’t know what to expect. But the moment I walked into the San Tropez studio, I felt comfortable. Everyone was welcoming and supportive, especially the teacher. We learned Bachata and Kizomba at a really chill pace. I loved that you didn’t need a partner. Honestly, if you’re looking for a fun beginner dance class in Montreal, this is it.

I just went for the free dance class out of curiosity, and I ended up signing up for a full Salsa course! The vibe was energetic, positive, and very inclusive. Even though I messed up a few steps, the instructor kept it light and fun. Everyone was there to learn, and no one took themselves too seriously. Definitely recommend San Tropez for anyone starting out.

I moved to Montreal recently and wanted to meet people in a fun environment. A friend told me about the free Latin dance classes at San Tropez, and I gave it a shot. The Kizomba part was completely new to me — very smooth and intimate, but not intimidating. I walked out with a smile, sore legs, and two new friends. Highly recommend if you're new to the city or just want to try something different.

My girlfriend dragged me to the open house, and I’ll admit I was not into it at first. But 10 minutes into the Bachata class, I was actually having a good time. The teacher made it simple, and the group energy was infectious. For someone like me who never dances, this beginner-friendly setup made it feel possible. And free? You’ve got nothing to lose.
